Roger... Thanks for giving us a great website to check out with some great links to the
bodybuilding world. I also
want to thank you and all of the other Wheelchair athletes for being a great inspiration
to all of us and really showing us what a
true champion and hero is! For many years I MC'd the Wheelchair National Championships and
I was always so
overwhelmed by the guts and determination on the competitors. Every year I started the
show off with something that I truly
believe and feel strongly about...It goes like this...
We grow up believing that the heroes are the guys that hit the homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game at the WORLD SERIES...or the hero is the guy that dives across the goal line to win the Superbowl with 3 seconds left in the game. The true heroes are the Wheelchair competitors that you will see onstage tonight. The true heroes are the ones that go the distance despite their setbacks or hardships. The hero truly isn't the guy that shoots that game winning basket in the NBA Championships...and my Mr. USA victory pales in comparison to the great athletes onstage at the Wheelchair Nationals. These are the Champions...These are the True Heroes...
